ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS FLIGHT 58

On July 30, 1971, All Nippon Airways Flight 58 crashed, after a collision with Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-86F Sabre jet fighter, which caused both aircraft to crash. All 162 people on board the Flight 58 were killed, while the Sabre pilot ejected before the collision and survived. The aircraft on Flight 58 was a  Boeing 727-281, registered as JA8329. The Flight 58 was a Japanese domestic flight from Sapporo to Tokyo.

It was determined, that the military pilot failed to see and avoid other traffic, while conducting a training mission. This caused the right wing of the Sabre to struck the horizontal stabilizer of the Boeing 727.
